Welcome

Welcome to the "CSI" live blog! We'll be up and blogging with actress Liz Vassey and writer Evan Dunsky at 10:00 pm (ET), 7:00 pm (PT). Director Richard Lewis could not be with us because of a scheduling conflict.

Post your questions for Liz and Evan here.

Question from headcheese--if Chiller is showing the amped up version, what had to be toned down? And were you given more leeway than usual (since it's a Halloween episode)?

Evan--I wouldn't say the version we did was amped down, it includes other story telling elements of the episode. We used all the really vital parts of the episode.

Question from chillsandspills--Do either of you think a horror film is in your future?

Liz--Oh, I hope so. I hope I can do one sometime. I loved every bit of it.
Evan--I'll second that. I think they are a blast. I haven't done much work in the genre but I hope to in the future.

Question from crazyladi--Liz, can you explain how the effect of you being cut in half with a chainsaw was accomplished?

Liz--The part that I thought was most interesting was they had a body double come in for me. I had to wear green from the waste down. I had to fall back, like a chicken with a head cut off. It was so interesting.

Question from So Raven--Evan, where did the idea for the script come from? Where do you get the ideas for all the CSI stories?

Evan--Oh wow. Okay. The idea for this piece came off an NPR segment about Eli Roth. I thought it would be a really fun way for the ensemble actors act as they would on the show and let the episode itself turn into a horror film, and play with the episode a bit.

Question from Buhbuhraven--Liz, any chance of you getting a regular spot on the show now that Jorja Fox is leaving?

Liz--I actually am on the show on a pretty regular basis. I hope to continue on a regular basis. I know my character will miss her character, and as a person I will miss her a lot, because she's another gal to have around the lab. But personally I hope the show is on for a long long time.

Question from uncartoonist--What's the sickest scene you've ever done on CSI?

Liz--I been on it for almost exact two years, and the sickest thing I've had to do is remove fluid from an eyeball and stick a needle in it. My nieces were afraid they were going to have nightmares about it.
Evan--As you were talking about that eyeball thing...we spend a day in autopsy observing actually autopy. I watched that same procedure on a real cadaver. I hope the most disgusting thing I have to do lies in the future.

Question from rmcooper--Liz, I understand you grew up in the Tampa Bay area. Do you remember the local horror movie host, Dr. Paul Bearer?

Liz--The short answer is no. But I moved out of Tampa when I was pretty young. My dad was a minister. We didn't watch a lot of horror movies growing up.

Question from Miss Scarah--Evan, what was your experience co-writing "Voodoo Dawn" with Gina Gershon?

Evan--I had a blast writing that movie. It was very early in my career. We had about 50 cents to make the movie and we all had a great time doing it.

Question from ftheirish--What's your favorite horror film? Anything you like recently?

Evan--The film that by far scared the pants off me the worst was "The Exorcist." I was 13. I was so freaked out. We had the great pleasure on CSI with working with William Friedkin.
Liz--Evan stole my answer. But it would have to be Poltergeist. Something about tapping into my childhood fears and nightmares.
Evan--I like Rob Zombie's stuff. Night of a Thousand Corpses.
